Companies House delays new accounts filing requirements until 2028
The UK Government has confirmed that the planned changes to Companies House accounts filing requirements will now come into effect from April 2028, rather than 2027. This gives businesses additional time to prepare for the new reporting requirements.
Under the new rules, most companies will be required to file their accounts electronically using compatible accounting software. The changes are designed to improve the accuracy of information held by Companies House, enhance transparency, and modernise the accounts filing process.
Although the implementation has been delayed, businesses should use this extra time to prepare. Reviewing your accounting processes and ensuring you have suitable software in place will help make the transition smoother and keep your company compliant with the new requirements.
