The first quarterly update for the 2026\/27 tax year was due by 7 August 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The next deadline is 7 November 2026, followed by 7 February and 7 May 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is important to understand that quarterly updates are not four separate tax returns. They provide HMRC with information about income and expenses throughout the year, while the final Income Tax calculation is completed separately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For 2026\/27, HMRC will not apply penalty points for late quarterly updates, although the updates are still required.
